24 Days of Kindness Challenge: Day 6

ByLeah ✨ Community Manager /

Today’s Kindness Challenge is to make a donation. There can be a lot of pressure to donate. Today’s kindness challenge is not meant to pressure you, but inspire you to make a donation to a cause that’s meaningful to you.

There are a ton of organizations out there and it can be overwhelming. If you’re not sure where to donate, know that you can always plant a tree, even as a gift or in honour of someone. (Keep this in mind for when you don’t know what to get your Secret Santa.)

Find something you care about and make a donation. You don’t have to donate a hospital wing to have an impact. In fact, many organizations prefer small monthly contributions because it offers a steady and predictable source of funding.

Giving makes us happy, evokes gratitude, and is even good for our health. You will feel good about yourself knowing you are contributing in a meaningful way to an organization that matters to you.

Share your experiences on our world map. See previous 24 Days of Kindness Challenge prompts here.

I was on line for donated food, and had forgotten my mask. I was holding an old paper towel over my face, and a Chinese woman who was joining the line gave me a mask out of the extras she always carries! The kindness had me on the verge of tears. Masks may not mean a lot to some... But that simple mask meant so so so much to me just then...

Not long after the pandemic hit North America, my friend Andrew started an amazing bi-monthly event series called Happy Hour for Hope. Each session, he invites anyone and everyone who needs a bit of hope to join in a virtual happy hour. Attendees are treated to some positivity, connection, and purpose, and are invited to donate to a worthy cause. Andrew is a force of nature and this is a not-so-random act of great kindness.
