The other day a woman I interviewed for a job a few years ago reached out to say thank you. The kicker is I never gave her a job. I liked her. I thought she was impressive and would go far, but she wasn’t the right person for the kind of job we had at the time. She said she was thanking me because she learned a lot from that interview. It was such a kind gesture, acknowledging the time and care that went into the conversation. I was very touched by her outreach.
